I. Vocabulary — Fashion business
success (succès) · business (entreprise) · fashion show (défilé de mode) · to set up a business (créer une entreprise) · well-known (célèbre) · wig (perruque) · fashion model / top model (mannequin) · sewing machine (machine à coudre) · seamstress (couturière) · tailor (tailleur) · to parade (défiler) · catwalk (podium) · master of ceremonies · dry cleaner · to order (commander)
II. Present perfect vs Past simple
| Present perfect — action récente/liée au présent | Past simple — action terminée, datée |
The tailor has already made your shirt. We have just bought new clothes. Sanogo has not set up his business yet. | This artist wore a wig last week. Aya bought a dress two weeks ago. Yao went to his farm yesterday. |
Present perfect = have/has + participe passé ; marqueurs : already, just, yet, never, ever.
Past simple = verbe au passé ; marqueurs : yesterday, last week, …ago, in 1960.
⚠️ Pièges classiques :- Avec yesterday / last year / ago → past simple, jamais present perfect.
- yet → phrase négative/interrogative en fin : hasn't … yet.
- Prétérits irréguliers : wear→wore, buy→bought, make→made, go→went.
